Whether entertaining or simply enjoying a weekday evening meal with the family, pasta is now a staple in most dining rooms. Fresh homemade pasta can bring a touch of luxury to this ‘ordinary’ foodstuff and it need not be difficult with the Villaware Pasta Machine.

Making homemade noodles is an incredible way to add a unique flavor to the dish you are creating, but even though the flavor may be there, you still need the right size and consistency of noodles in order for the dish to come out perfect. For instance, you don’t want macaroni style noodles in a batch of spaghetti. It can be done, and has been done, but when it comes down to it, a bowl of spaghetti needs spaghetti noodles! Creating these thin types of pasta, though, can be a tough task, so I definitely recommend using a pasta maker.

The Villaware Pasta Machine is a mid range Kitchen Gadget. Coming in at around this is a great economical buy. But, do not let the price fool you; Villaware Pasta Machines have everything you need to create perfect pasta every time. Plus, they offer a range of extra tools so that once you get started you can make everything from tortellini to ravioli.

This is not a restaurant equivalent machine. It is compact with at only 6 inches wide, so that it will not take up too much counter space. But, compact does not impact on quality. It is a basic product, that when used correctly should leave you with no problems. Rolling out the dough to thinner and more delicate finesse is simple with the manual crank and adjustable thickness settings.

Directions:

In a food processor, blend together basil, pine nuts, garlic, and Parmesan until smooth. Pour in olive oil slowly in a constant stream while still mixing. (The amount of olive oil can be adjusted to suit the preferred consistency of your pesto sauce). Finally add sea salt and black pepper to taste.

As an alternative try making red pesto sauce adding 1/2 cup of sun-dried tomatoes
