They almost look the same, only differing in size. Both the 4-cup CRC-400 and the 8-cup CRC-800 look good with the stainless steel exterior. Both comes with a nonstick bowl, and their baskets are made of stainless steel, which is very good for steaming veggies and also your favorite seafood. The 4-cup and the 8-cup rice cookers allow you to cook your rice with much ease. They come with measuring cup, plastic rice spoon, and glass top lid (removable). Each also includes a manual with easy to follow recipes. However, they don’t have complex technology like Fuzzy Logic, nor offer advanced settings for certain rice types. Another lacking is the programmable timer. Despite all these, they can manage to cook the best rice. But still, many users are not happy about Cuisinart rice cookers. Cuisinart 4-cup CRC-400 The design of the 4-cup CRC-400 is definitely is definitely good looking. It’s as small as an economic 2-slice toaster, so it won’t take up a lot of counter room. It goes perfectly well with the overall kitchen design. This rice cooker is easy to clean and has parts that are dishwasher safe. It also allows you to cook your rice in no time. But a lot of users dislike the spilling over. There’s a solution to this: Just rinse your rice very well. Then add one tsp of vegetable oil for every cup of rice. This solves the problem 9 out of 10 times. It comes with a rather small steaming tray for preparing veggies, seafood, and poultry. This rice cooker is only good for the needs of two persons. Another issue is the water-to-rice learning curve. But once you deal with this issue, this unit does a good job at cooking fluffy rice. This cooker catches up with other rice cookers available in the market. 8-cup CRC-800 What I like about this cooker is its stylish look and sleek feel. It’s exterior has a smooth stainless steel finish. It’s one of the prettiest kitchen appliances you’ll ever have on your counter. You don’t have to worry about its handles since it’s chrome plated and touch friendly.Your hands won’t get burned when you move the cooker. This rice cooker features level control. It also has warming modes and comes with retractable cord storage. You’ll also get a measuring cup and a rice paddle. It comes with a 3-year warranty. On the other hand, while the cooking pot features a nonstick coating, the rice sticks. The manual says you’ve got to spray the bottom to prevent sticking. Still, a nonstick bowl should be nonstick, whether you spray it or not. But a lot of users attest that there’s no problem with sticking. Like the 4-cup model, the 8-cup model has some small issues with splattering. Sure, it has a steam vent designed to prevent spilling. It won’t spill if you don’t cook more than 6 cups. Spilling becomes an issue with much rice, say 8 cups.
