Terrific New eBook On How To Broil Delicious Foods

My family just can’t get enough of rice. We can’t live without it. We’re very picky about our rice. My husband complains when I serve him rice that’s too sticky. My kid whines if the rice is too coarse. We used to own a 3-cup rice cooker and we’re not happy about it.

My primary concern is size. We have insatiable appetite for great rice, so it’s not a good idea to have a smaller rice cooker. Fortunately, my mom gave me a Panasonic 5 cup rice cooker. Below are some features you must check when getting 5 cup rice cookers.

Volume

A friend was very dismayed when she used her newly bought a 5cup rice cooker. She’s so confident about the cooker’s capacity so she tried to cook 5 cups of rice. She left it to do some chores, confident that the rice cooker would do the rest. When she returned after a few minutes, she saw the rice cooker spilling some water. It was a mess.

So it’s best to read the specs when you’re choosing a 5 cup rice cooker. Are you getting a ‘5 cups dry’, or a ‘5 cups cooked’ rice cooker. They are hugely different.

Versatility

Go for an all-around 5 cup rice cooker. If you’re living a healthy life, you might want a rice cooker that allows you to prepare healthy meals. In addition to cooking the finest rice, your rice cooker should also allow you to steam veggies and fish and make stews and soups.

Easy cleaning

When buying a 5 cup rice cooker, make sure that it’s easy to clean. Some rice cookers make a real mess as the rice being cooked bubbles up through the steam vent. Avoid these rice cookers as much as possible. Choose one that has a lid that barely needs washing. Go for a one that combines cool features with great engineering and that is dishwasher-friendly.

Programmable setting

Programmability is a good feature if you’re a very busy person. Automatic settings save you much time and energy stirring and watching your rice cooker. Higher-end 5 cup rice cookers sport some features like extended keep warm and delayed start. Many high-end rice cookers have settings for different kinds of rice.

Style

Make sure that your 5 cup rice cooker looks good on your counter. Choose a cooker that fits your counter well. Get one that will blend elegantly with the overall design of your kitchen.
